Overview

Located in the heart of Chicago’s vibrant French Market, Saigon Sisters (French Market) offers a delightful taste of Vietnamese cuisine that effortlessly blends bold flavors with fresh ingredients. This cozy spot is perfect for those craving an authentic, flavorful experience that’s both satisfying and unique. Whether you're a local or just visiting, a stop at this charming diner should definitely be on your list.

Saigon Sisters is a family-owned restaurant that takes pride in serving dishes that capture the essence of Vietnamese street food. The restaurant's menu features a variety of traditional dishes, with a few modern twists to keep things interesting. One standout is their pho, a classic Vietnamese noodle soup that's perfect for any time of the day. The broth is rich and aromatic, simmered for hours to achieve a deep, comforting flavor. The tender slices of beef and fresh herbs make this dish a true comfort food, especially during the colder months in Chicago.

Another popular dish at Saigon Sisters is the banh mi. This Vietnamese sandwich is a perfect fusion of French and Vietnamese influences. The crispy baguette is filled with a variety of meats, such as grilled pork or chicken, and topped with fresh vegetables, pickled carrots, and cilantro. It's a great option for those on the go, as it’s both flavorful and satisfying, making it a lunchtime favorite. The balance of textures-crispy, crunchy, and tender-along with the contrast of sweet, sour, and savory, creates a harmonious bite every time.

If you're craving something a bit lighter, the vermicelli bowls are an excellent choice. Served with fresh herbs, grilled meats, and a tangy fish sauce dressing, these bowls offer a refreshing yet filling meal. The grilled shrimp vermicelli, in particular, is a must-try. The shrimp is perfectly charred and paired with fresh vegetables that add a nice crunch, making for a deliciously balanced dish.

What sets Saigon Sisters apart from many other Vietnamese restaurants in the city is its commitment to freshness and quality. Ingredients are sourced carefully, and you can taste the difference in every dish. The space itself is warm and welcoming, making it the perfect place to enjoy a casual meal with friends or family. It’s clear that the owners of Saigon Sisters take great pride in their offerings, and their passion for good food shines through in every bite.

Beyond the food, the staff at Saigon Sisters provides top-notch service. They are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, always ready to offer suggestions or explain the ingredients in the dishes. This attention to detail creates an experience that feels personal, and it’s clear that they want each customer to feel at home.

In terms of atmosphere, Saigon Sisters does a fantastic job of balancing a casual vibe with a touch of elegance. The French Market setting, with its mix of local vendors and bustling crowds, adds to the charm. The restaurant itself is cozy but never feels cramped, and there’s a relaxed energy that makes dining here a pleasant experience.

If you're wondering about the price range, Saigon Sisters offers great value for the quality of food served. While it may not be the cheapest option in the area, the prices are fair for the amount of care and attention that goes into each dish. Plus, considering the freshness and authenticity of the menu, it's easy to justify the price tag.

For those planning a visit, Saigon Sisters is conveniently located at 131 N Clinton St, Chicago, IL 60661, United States. Whether you're a first-timer or a regular, the restaurant has a lot to offer. Whether you’re in the mood for something light like a vermicelli bowl or craving a hearty pho, Saigon Sisters (French Market) is the place to go.

Delicious pork belly baos, Vietnamese wagyu baos, and tender Curry chicken. I haven't tried anything else from here but the baos are generously filled and flavorful, the bao bun is fluffy and sweet. 3 baos for $10.75 is a good price for what you get. They're filling. Plus you can get a caramelized egg on the side for a dollar. It's not very caramelized, but it's good. It is basically like a tea egg which is a hard-boiled egg steeped in flavorings for days. Saigon sister's egg doesn't seem steeped long enough unfortunately. But it's still a very good effort and worth the dollar. I'm surprised this place doesn't have higher ratings. I love it and will keep going back.

Amazing place! .. I have been craving Pho for the longest time and this place hit the spot. I was confused with all the selection and ordered a sandwich instead. As soon as I received my order the lady realized it wasn't what I thought. I was going to keep it but she insisted to switch it to the soup. I've never been so amazed with the great customer service after it all i find out she's the owner! I just want to say I'm super happy with my pho soup and the customer service so worth it!!
